Air beds?

Well I discovered a couple years back that my festy experience is much improved with an air bed in me tent. I dont sleep much at festys but when i do its so much easier if im comfy!

last year I had two, both died on me (well my brother killed one of them Rolling Eyes

). i just got a new one but its way heavier than the campingaz one i used to have, it seems like a very good bed but Im thinking about sending it back cos its heavy Confused

So my query is - do you have an airbed, is it trusty, is it light? theres so many out there, recommend me a practical one please...

we have had one of these for three years ,its been used lots and its realy compfy,we have not used it at any festivals but its been on lots of holidays and has had its fair share of night turbulance on rougth ground,id say it very durable.And it doubles into a chair bonus!

air beds are fine until the cells inside them come apart suddenly with a sound like an explosion at 7am. rude awakening or what!

We've got a double one with an internal pump. The bed is fine, albeit heavy to carry, but the pump is useless - wish I'd given it a try before buying.

By the middle of last summer we'd given up on lugging the heavy one around and just took a couple of rollmats and a single self-inflating one instead. Not quite as comfy but won out in the stakes overall. Would highly recommend the self-inflating ones if you have the dosh.

I have a little battery powered air pump, which ok is more to carry but, is great for blowing up air beds £6= Bargain

Joy also has a battery powered pump. I know it has inflated our mattress!!

So would I, but the ones that roll up when deflated don't have to cost a lot. The best one I bought was from Netto and it only cost me £7.99. I've had it quite a few years now and I just pad it out with blankets coz like Joy I don't really sleep much at festies.

I had one which slowly went down every night so by the time i woke up my bum was froze off in hard floor but my head and feet were in the air(not good).ive used roll mats since with the silver foil coating on, nice and warm!!!

I just cant get comfy on roll mats! Think im gonna get me coleman one like ghaylas. Then my lie downs will be luxury Smile

i've never bothered with an air bed until i started to camp with FC.She is the camping queen! all mod cons Smile

now i've become a camping softy, although they are heavy to carry

Buy a couple of cheap vinyl airbeds from a pound shop - they don't last long, but are cheap, comfortable and weigh next to nothing. The secret is to only inflate them enough to just raise you off the ground. And deflate them during the day if it's hot - and it is going to be very hot Smile

- that's what does for most airbeds.

I have one of those navy blue velour ones. it is a bit heavy to carry but so worth it. I get very cold at night and therefore having something that keeps me off the cold floor is a must, and when my tired body is aching theres nothing like it, like lying on a cloud. Ace!

Apparently Aldi/Lidl type places have started doing all kinds of outdoors stuff and their airbeds like mine are v cheap. mine was about £12 in a sale, i think full price they are upwards of £20 (double size) but the cheaper ones look ok and are probably lighter.

i have the same as FC think it was only £14.99 from millets! i found that if you hold it very small you can squeeze it into a stuff sack (like you put your sleeping bad into) and attach it to the back of your rucksack!

we are actually going this weekend to buy one so will def. go to milletts first as the ones we have bought previously have been rubbish yes
