Hello .
I hope the organisers bother to read these posts! I know the weather was bad but.... There are a lot of muddy tired traders who don't think much of the way this was handled.. It was bad enough getting towed on, then we had to pay to get towed off because the tractor drivers hadn't been paid and they couldn't contact the management . Many people have lost a lot of money and/or stock and will need some persuation to go back on a site that is so poorly run and obviously a flood plain/ marsh. Why was there no metal track in place before we came on site? This would have stopped the ground getting so churned up and allowed the fire/security/safety road to have stayed open. The mud that was created was a mix of cowpat/slurry and soil, mmm smells good . Why no separate crew/ trade/ public/ emergency entrances? Why weren't they prepared for this when its happened before? Are Sunrise going to go bust over this? I feel that would be a shame. We all know there are so many legal restrictions on large festivals that it makes it very expensive and time consuming to organise one, so its amazing that they happen at all! God I feel like Victor Meldrew. Love to all

You had to pay to get towed off? Funny that, whilst standing in the queue for the public to get towed off we heard that you had to pay. Then a few minutes later some stewards/organisers came past on a 4x4 buggy tell us that the tractor drivers should not be charging. Were some of the drivers trying to cream a little extra off the top? What are other peeps experience of this? How much did you get charged if you got charged?

Really feel for you guys, with your perishable stock on top of the other losses! Sad All we've really lost - so far - is holiday we took from work and what money we spent getting there.

Very valid point about the trackways, other festivals of the the same size use them extensively when and were they need to.

There were other things that weren't in place either. Someone's already mentioned a total lack of signs, also none of the usual recycling points were set up in the camping areas, it was like they hadn't finished getting the site ready!

We were told several times that they shouldn't be charging , seems that no one told them! Rolling Eyes

most people were getting charged between £10-20 so yes quite a bit of mulah, but we were just glad to get off site before it rained again.
Why don't all of us buy an enormous amount of land?!( I'm sure I've heard this before) Then we can have hippy police that make you a nice cup of tea, roll you a spliff and take you home.
Maybe they could buy some pixie dust in bulk for next time and sprinkle it around beforehand.

Laughing Glad you've kept your sense of humour and why you live the way you do Smile it was very wet in there!!!

We're thinking more, smaller festivals that don't get bogged down in red tape is probably the way to go Cool Wink

the sight could not be finished because of the rain on weds ,it was torrential the health and safty people would not let people do any work.Iwas told by the stuwards that they were asking to do jobs to finish getting the sight ready but were told to wait.Thats why some things were not compleated.DUE TO RAIN not because they didnt want too.Its a shame.

Which is why the organisers should NEVER have let the public on site on the Thursday!
Torrential rain is one thing, poor preparation/organisation is another!!

And the two together results in the chaos that followed!

Even if it hadn't rained on Thurs afternoon we still would have been unable to go into the main arena. It wasn't that bad in the campervan field, but it was obviously too wet at the bottom of the hill for the event to go ahead!
