Just before i swap my ticket for a chill ticket. I'd just like to know from the Sunrise organisers, What exactly are you bringing to the Chill? I love Sunrise & all it stands for but i'm a little worried about coming to an event that is not sustainable. Also, how many of the Sunrise arenas will be at the big chill? Sunrise has 13 arenas. How many of those will be there? Will Waveform be supplying the dance element? The Chill dance tent looks a little....? Well sensible & conservative. I'm up for going but i dont want to go to a corporate fest (they're great, just not for me) if Sunrise is only putting on a small side show to avoid giving ticket money back.
Let's see the line-up before we commit!

From the latest Sunrise email:-
We will be holding Sunrise in a field adjoining The Big Chill festival on the beautiful land of Eastnor Castle near Ledbury, Herefordshire.
All sunrise ticket purchasers will have the opportunity to transfer their ticket to a Sunrise @ The Big Chill ticket, which will grant them access to all of the Big Chill and Sunrise Arenas.
To give you a taste, The big Chill line up this year includes&
Bomb The Bass, Asian Dub Foundation, Roots Manuva, Nitin Sawhney, DJ Krush, DJ Vadim, Mr Scruff, Fat Freddy s drop, Thievery Corporation, Martha Wainwright, TrentMolle, Beth Orton and Plaid
Plus The Mighty Boosh, Bill Bailey, Leonard Cohen! and much much more...
For the full line up visit www.bigchill.net
We are really excited about this as it will be a festival within a festival. It will be 100% sustainable powered, with compost toilets, eco rangers and all the usual Sunrise Ethos and intimacy. We will be helping The Big Chill on eco policy to help them green up too ?
The Sunrise arena will have all that you love about Sunrise including talks on Alternative Technologies, Earth Mysteries, Ethno Botony and Global Tribal Culture, Workshops, World music, Balkan Beats, full flavour folk, Gypsy Swing, reggae and more. Walkabout and spontaneous performance, Dance from Breaking to Breton, Green Graffiti, Enchanted Crafts, Hot Tubs, Saunas, Tipi Circle, Permaculture gardens and so much more all around a central fire.
We are also looking at getting some of our original headliners along for The Big Chill stages
The Sunrise field will have a separate road access gate. Camping and parking will be within the field for all the Sunrise Ticket holders, so it really will be like Sunrise, next door to the Big Chill.

It is a fairly valid question, will the Waveforms stage still be running since Tribe of Frog tend to be involved with other festivals during the summer months.
And what of the Avalon rising people?
I'm sure the line-up will still be wicked with some extra special surprises...

One of the things I love about Sunrise is the fact that such a diverse array of musical talent perform side by side. It would be such a shame to lose this! Good psytrance can be great (in moderation) and Waveform isn't just about psy trance anyway. I saw some fantastic sets there over the last couple of years. Loads of people love the dance music as well as all the other genres.
Sunrise wouldn't be the same without Eatstatic! Have these acts even been invited to the new event?
Does anyone know for sure whether the Waveform lot will be there or not?

-I'm keen to support Sunrise and understand that it just is not possible to put on the same event at the Big Chill.
-but, like others, I would like to know a bit more about what Sunrise wil be bringing to the Big Chill
-wil there be a Sunrise stage?
-wil any of the original acts be playing
-will there be a Waveform stage?......
-official web-site said more details to follow, hopefully that is stil the case and they can flesh it out a bit more.
-I'm not looking for much to persuade me, but I do need at least a flavour of Sunrise to go.

I'm probably wrong, but I would imagine that whatever the organisers are able to put on will depend a lot on how many people take up the Big Chill option

That'll be partly down to the organisers and partly down to us

24 hour Psy-trance can get a bit much, but I love some of the more ambient stuff. The waveform's live stage was a bit more varied and will be a little sad if that is not there. Not actually crying, but just thinking of the good dancing that could have been had.
There does not seem to have been any word from Tribe of Frog as to whether or not they will be there, but I sort of think they should be in a way.

Blimey, some of you want jam on it. A Big Chill ticket for a price of a Sunrise ticket is a bargain. Give it a go, support Sunrise and stop worrying . I'm sure it will be fine.

-I'm sure it will be fine, + I'll probably go come what may
-all the same, I don't think that stops anyone asking a legitimate question.....what of Sunrise will be at Big Chill?
-I'm not expecting a lot, I understand the financial strains they must be under, but it would be good to hear their plans.
-come on, guys, give us an update, even tho' I know yer wellies haven't dried out properly yet......

I guess the main thing I'm hoping for is the Avalon Rising tent with all the talks about stone circles, aliens, the end of the world, that sort of stuff. It adds a bit of a different dimension to the usual festival (sometimes literally!). Plus, the chance to sit down and learn something new. There was a quite interesting talk on the Stanton Drew Stone Circle the first year, Brizzle's own little stone circle.

I've been to the Big Chill and Sunrise before and love both. But they are completely different vibes and experiences. I chose Sunrise this year because the line up was far better. This being said I will be going to the big chill but really hope that at lease some of the Sunrise music/artists will make it to the big chill. Wishing the organisers all the best with this one.

we will be announcing the sunrise content this week all things considered, some things definately on the cards are...
the out of the ordinary arena, including talks on earth energies, stones and crop circle wonders.
tipi circle and camping,
kids field
chai wallah cafe and stage, providing some of the fantastic bands we were due to show.
roots and culture including poetry slam and rap comp, green graffiti amongst other things.
green inovations, talks and alternative technology.
triban stage, music and things
we are in discussion with the big chill on getting some of our mainstage line up onto their stages, the orb, eat static ect.
bimbe inn
amongst others, we would like to stress that this is all speculative and as has been said is subject to all the various factors.
thank you all for your support and we look forward to using this opportunity to push Sunrise Celebration into the history books as one of the uks best events for fantastic entertainment.
this is a great opportunity for us to succeed beyond our wildest dreams.

Thanks for letting us know the situation! It's good to hear that you're trying to get some of the main acts on stage, as the quality of you're lineup was one of the most exciting things about Sunrise (as in previous years too). Keep up the good work!
PS. Have we mentioned Eatstatic enough times yet?!
