Anyone know if the campervan field is inside the site this year? In the past we've had to go through a search to get in but last year we didn't.

Incidentally absynth is the same colour as washing up liquid, hiding things in clear sight is often overlooked Smile

just to let you know on GladTalk it has been confirmed that no alcohol is allowed through the re-entry gate - ie you take your allocated booze in first time and after that they assume you have had your allowance and none is allowed through on your next trip....

wont bother me cos im not big on the alcohol but i know some of you might not be happpy about that!

They will not search everyone, so if everyone takes far too much in, at least the ones that get through can share with the ones that don't

We're going to bring a box of westons each, which I think should be fine at the gate b/c its equal to 6 bottles of cider..
Is a bottle of cider equal to 1 or 2 cans of beer though?
Maybe we can bring in two boxes each.
I'm going to mix some krupnik (delicious polish honey vodka) with orange juice and keep it in the carton too.

I'm taking 12 cans of Merrydown cider, it's 7.6%, so equivalent of 2 cans of normal beer/cider each!

Might try and take 16 cans, then if they grip me, I'll neck 4 of them before going in! LOLz

Quote: › Glade Festival 2008 – Event Management Plan
Glade Festival 2008
ALCOHOL POLICY AT PEDESTRIAN ENTRANCE
NO GLASS AT ANY TIME
Thursday
To be made public prior to the festival.
Alcohol for personal consumption allowed to be brought onto site on the Thursday only (effectively up until 22.00 on Thursday).
Per person :
12 x cans of beer
plus
2 x bottles of wine
or
1 x bottle of spirits
Searches should be carried out as usual but especially on anyone with large amounts of luggage.
Plastic bottles will be provided at the gate for decanting if glass bottles are found.
People should be given the option of returning any small amounts of excess alcohol to their cars.
Large quantities or alcohol from those not wanting to return to their cars will be confiscated and placed in the lock up. Receipts should be issued to enable collection on Sunday evening / Monday morning.
Friday to Sunday
Advertised policy is that NO alcohol will be allowed onto site after 22.00 on Thursday.
In reality security should be briefed to use their discretion and allow in minimal amounts if they are found. These would be :
8 x cans of beer
plus
1 x bottle of wine
or
1 x bottle of spirits

That was from the original plan which was made in April - the rules have changed since then. Sad

the police guidelines saying they should turn a blind eye on the Friday is still quite an eye-opener though!
