not necessarily.......corporate festival is not what i wanted.....Sunrise festival is what i wanted.....i think it is a fair question because in my experience a Big Chill ticket for the price of a sunrise one is NOT a bargain

Hi there
From going to both sunrise and big chill I can say that although they are different festivals they would certainly complement each other very well.
I wouldn't say that Big Chill is disgustingly corporate. It's certainly no Carling monopoly.
From what I can tell they accept sponsorship on a case by case basis, last year they had a wray and nephew's tent and various other sponsored alcohol tents but it just didn't have a corporate feel to it.
Big chill seems to attract families and the sort of older "middle class" non-drug taking hippies which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
There's a lovely vibe and it's very friendly. Lot's of lovely surprises.
Plenty of vegan food to choose from.
So yes, more corporate than sunrise but not horrible and it's not as un-sustainable as some festies but maybe not as good as sunrise with the compost loos...
