Manged to hook up with Carl, Lilly and Nathan in the North Field by just asking around. We were up against the North most hedge/fence. Did not see any other Festival Weatherers there though Sad

Where were other people? Got to admit, that I was a bit split about wandering across the whole site from the bus station to North Field with the prospect of it being closed. Lumbering along, hot and sweaty with all my stuff. Worth it though.

Had a great time, but I didn't knowingly meet up with anybody. Got there late on Friday, ended up being told by a steward to park in one of the vehicle access lanes as I didn't intend to use an awning. And took about 3 hours to get out on Monday. Took the pretty route back to Crewe, with assorted stops, including the Cardingmill Valley at Church Stretton.

Loved the Sunrise bit, only venturing out for The Imagined Village (and doing so too late to catch any of The Peatbog Faeries), a wander around the Enchanted Garden, and Leonard Cohen. It was amusing comparing the very different feels of the two festivals. Both happy, but Sunrise much more laid back.

My high point: The back massage with the golden pineapple.

My low point: leg damage aggravated by the distance from the camper van field to the festival arena.

Unfortunately Big Chill didn't sort out proper access to water n stuff so they closed north camping before we arrived. Shame really, as I'd much rather have been near Sunrise - it was one hell of an uphill hike from where we ended up.

The Big cHill, far from Chilled! Definately more the Big Pill Rolling Eyes Not a good family festy as we were told Sad It's pretty much Glastonbury the 2nd!

We enjoyed the Sunrise bit and Leonard Cohen, but won't be going to BC again, even with Sunrise there - it's too big (and those hills are killers!)

Melvin

PS Beautiful location tho Smile

Mixed feelings! Yeah, I would not do BC on it's own, Sunrise was like a safety blanket we could run back to when we got scared!

The location was amazing, would have been nice to have gone for a walk outside the festival area, apart from the hills maybe!

There seemed to be a bit of a water issue with the rest of BC as well. I had problems finding drinking water. Only on Sunday afternoon did I spot the one solitary tap near the open air stage. At least Sunrise had 4 right bang in the middle of the field. Maybe I should have taken my divining rods Laughing

Ah, I saw those blue lights, were they the same at waveform? I was in the camperfield just along a bit from there. Didn't know they were festival weather or I would have wandered over. Our spot on the hill was lacking in smiley party people. Almost like a caravan park really Rolling Eyes

Indeed they were and will probably be the same at waveform again this year.

I felt there were a good amount of water points. Most in the arenas had big green drinking water signs above them and there were others dotted about as well.

Toilets and water points were a long way from the part of the campervan field where we were Sad But on the plus side, we were quite close to the shortest route to Sunrise Smile

To be far, by toward the end of the festival I had found a few more water points, I was just expecting them next to the bogs like at some fests. Maybe there weren't the big queues for them that I'm used to.

From the Sunrise field (when you got there!) everything was fairly accessible. For the 30k+ capacity, getting from the sunrise field to the open air stage was not bad, and there were never really any massive crowds slowing you do (like Glasto).

Worked out fine in summary.

Big Chill or BIG HILL?? Not going to Big Chill again. We got told when we arrived at the North gate, on Friday evening, that it was further to walk to Sunrise. Think they told us porkies. We lugged our stuff for miles it seemed like, there was no camping spots for ages n ages, until we got to the entrance on the hill and found a spot under an hedge..near the men’s bush - if you know what i mean. Embarassed

Was happy the sun came out but we was so creamed crackered on Friday night we missed The Orb...heard them playing in the distant - will think it was them Smile

And we missed you guys again...was dying to meet you all.. Glad to hear the sofa got a good home.. we saw it on the move
