i had a great time due to all you lovely peeps i was with, but i have to say that i wouldn't attend the big chill otherwise. I agree with the others about the lack of water and toilets, and also the amount of walking up and down hills was pretty annoying. i know its a small thing and some places (eg Glasto) you seem to be constantly walking, but with children as well it did make it a bit of a mission, especially at night. We met some lovely people who were up for a laugh (thinking of the amy winehouses for one and the lovely ladyboy selling pretty umbrellas) but some of them were pretty unfluffy. Joe offered a moustache from his pocket (not his nose LOL) to some little girls and their dad who had stopped to look at his and they backed away looking worried .

Must say I had an awesome time, didn't know Sunrise was going to be at BC and must confess to having gone just to see Mr Cohen sing out of tune, but bumped into a friend I hadn't seen for nearly 5 years who told me about Sunrise, and I didnt really spend much time anywhere else in BC! Really liked the whole atmosphere, was pleased to see the Leave no Trace ethic being adhered to in SUnrise, and appalled at the flagrant disregard for such beautiful surroundings shown by nearly everyone in The BC, sad.
But a big thank you to everyone at Sunrise for making my BC, just for having happy smiling faces, and talking to people around you, its such a radical concept that people going to the commercial festivals seem to have forgotten, treating the festivals like a weekend in Majorca (hence the littering)
Will keep an eye out for 2009 and will be at waveform - hope to see some of you there

Had that problem near us at first, so much that we couldn't hear and had to move, twice!

ME Won't go to BC again though as I prefer smaller festies, and some of the security peeps were unnecessarily aggressive plonkers. Sunrise bit was fab and it was great to see my lovely fluffy FW friends tho. Had a great time and looking forward to seeing you again. In lust with Noel Fielding
Where were to then ouzo? We camped in Valley not far from the posse, but didn't visit the camp.

I totally agree, loos, litter and general selfish attitude of some BC festival goers and security on site was horrendous compared to Womad the weekend before and Sunrise. Much to do with some (but not all) of the twats that frequent BC I guess, but maybe the ethical Sunrisers' attitude and behaviour will rub off on them?

I went with a crowd of non-sunrise peeps including 5 kids, the two oldest being experienced festie goers agreed that it was "the best festival we've been to ever" they also said their fave bit was the sunrise field!
I too was upset by the waste left behind, and fell out with a couple of mates who threw away heaps stuff (later rescued and taken to local charity shop) and even wanted to tip away booze! which is nothing short of a SIN... These are people who are obsesive about recycling at home! it makes no sense to me.
The music was mainly crap, but danced all day sunday in the rizla arena and dance tent.
Would I go again?? maybe if I get a free ticket again, otherwise I will spend my money elsewhere. Went to Beautiful days 2 weeks later and had an amazing (but muddy) time, it's so much more fun when it's all about the music! (rather than about money spending and looking trendy in £99 wellies)
