It would appear the sunrise celebrations location maybe somewhat low lying for a festival site ?Heavy rainfall is one thing but can this site cope with festivals.Common sense says first thing you do is consider the location for site , this site isnt fit for a festival if it rains , if it doesnt then its fine......thats a 50% chance of a nightmare . . .quite high odds i would say.I heard the site was flooded on tuesday and even before the storm people were not being let into the main arena due to flooding.I cant see anyone things 1ft of water will evaporate in 12 hours or any short time BUT......
Much respect to the crews and the organisers in many ways but i really think you people need to maybe try somewhere else geographically. This sites really flawed , it was water logged last year , you cant put festivals in low lying flood plain and crop fields , wrong soil , ground , water table , conditions.
its not a storm problem really is it ? ok so alot of sommerset flodded ( low lying areas - no floods on hills . . . and it was heavy rain but i think the big problem was that this area just doesnt absorb water well if its a few days at a time. The biggest flow is the festival site , good weather and its fine , bad weather and its a cancellation . . there is no inbetween and i think even without that storm it was knackered. In fact i wonder why you let anyone in given that thursday people weree already being towed ONTO the site.........
Like i say - much respect but i am left wondering as are many others. So many people said to me -WHy put it on this land - its flood land ? the car field and makeshift camoping area just had ' ive been flodded a million times ' written all over it , sparse grass and clay . . . not to get all alan titchmarsh but you have to change this site or get a decent oracle or something ! Good effort in trying but i think you pissed off the gods in someway via other actions . . .maybe the cause was that its on wrong land and the effect that it cant withstand any amount of constant rain.
Move it somewhere else . . .its a great spirit and noble quest and i like your intentions in many ways but your sites best left to grow crops on or as flood land.
