I was in the camperfield, and we noticed some campers in an old mouldy caravan. Shocking state it was, even more shocking come Monday to see the owners had buggered off and left it in the field
theres just no need for that

Sadly, abandoning £50-£100 worth of gear (tent, gazebo, mouldy old caravan, anything bought just for a festival) appears to be coming more popular. There was a surprising amount of stuff abandoned at Mudrise.
I assume the thinking goes something along the lines of its not much in comparison to the rest of the costs of attending, I don't (want|need|have space for) it, and I'll dump the chore of getting rid of it on somebody else.

We saw that being carried in, I said at the time that they'd leave it behind! Glad it's gone to a good home
Mudrise was an extreme example, people left in a hurry, so there was some excuse as to why they didn't pack up muddy tents etc. But there's no reason for the waste at Big Chill (and other big festies I suppose).
We have 'spare' tents that we've rescued, one came in handy at BC when it was loaned to some peeps who were a bit cramped in their van Others make great playhouses for the kids
At BC we rescued a fully working, portable (with handle and wheels) fridge!

It seems more and more people with no idea are going to festivals. Glasto 2005 the theme was lets end poverty and because it rained and things got muddy loads was abandoned. Bloom last year the amount of rubbish left strewn all over the field was utterly disgraceful. The Big Chill they have a big sign saying leave no trace and again the amount of rubbish in the mornings by the stages and left behind after the festival was appaling. These people really need to be educated about the effect they are having on the world they live in. However they all seem to be of the someone else will clean it up attitude probably due to the fact that that is what happens at home. Mummy still cleans up after them. We should go and party at their houses and laeve them in a shocking state and maybe then they will get the idea!!

What amazed me about that sofa is that is was not wet/stained/broken/ruined in any way at all, it was in fact pristine considering it had been in a damp field for a few days. Glad it has been acquired for the lounge cos it was well comfy and will 'house' loads of peeps when made into a bed. I can see the mammoth bed + balloon sessions now

I just don't get it either. How hard is it to pack up and put your rubbish in the bin. Even if wasted Some people must get paid to much to leave a tent and sleeping bags at a festival. Fuck, we need a festival revolution....what to do?

Leaving cheap tents behind I could understand the thinking, but an entire sofa? Crazynesss.
