Ooh, I'm coming down...
Sun Mar 04, 2007 1:09 pm
[ Mood: Hypnotized ] Hi folks, today is a time of reflection on the mad things I did on Friday night, Saturday morning and time to drink yet more OJ and scoff extra Vitamin C to lessen the 'gloomy Tuesday' syndrome.
Wey hey, what a cracker of a time we had. Went to the Custard Factory in Brum - it's called that coz its the site of the old Bird's Custard factory and still has a carved stone block above the door with a picture of a bird on it. I think its a listed building now, but not sure.
The event I went to was Underground City's 2nd birthday bash which consisted mostly techno, acid techno (looks frantically for flyer - resorts to DSI for more info), hard dance, hard trance and drum & bass. My fave dance spot is the acid/techno room where the main attraction was the formidable Chris Liberator, but one of my DSI buddies Pablo from Scum like Us played a blinding set too.
I love this club because people are so friendly and theres a chill out space upstairs with comfy leather sofas where you can chat - in my case ceaseless garbled rubbish (thinks - 'I blame the billy'). I think I made loads of new friends, but then who knows?
The Bridgo posse (me, & my pals Jeff and Linda) are all over 40 and don't give a damn, but there are a few 'regulars' who are quite a bit older than us. Nice vibe. On the way home next morning, we had the pleasure of seeing a full moon tinged with red - awesome and beautiful! Made me feel all cosy and sentimental Last night was a bit special too. Watched the eclipse with awe and wonder. It was beautiful and I attempted to take some photos but the lack of a decent camera meant I failed miserably.
Anyways, less of my drivel - not much else to say except that it will very soon be festival season so got to go and decide which others I'm gonna bump up my credit card bill with. Hmm, could try for Glasto, but not sure - expensive and the hassle of waiting to see if you've won that lottery is stressful. What about Eastern Haze? Off to ponder. See ya.

No time for all this now!
Tue Feb 27, 2007 10:55 pm
[ Mood: Distorted ] Yay and boo - last episode of Shameless and this one's gonna be a cracker methinks. Got to go and make a comfy nest in the bedroom ready to watch so see ya.
Ha ha - fooled ya, not going yet! Did anyone hear Kirsty on Desert Island Discs the t'other day? She 'did' Paul Abbot, Shameless writer. Brilliant What a tearjerker too - he's had such a colourful life. Shameless is based loosely on his family who were brought up by his teenage sister when their mum and later their dad abandoned them. Apparently they were too scared to claim benefits just in case Social Services split the family. Made me larf when he quoted his real dad as saying 'I'm nothing like Frank - I've never had long hair'. Similar to him in every other was though, at a guess.
Really gonna make me nest now, see ya

Hmmm, what shall I say?
Mon Feb 26, 2007 11:02 pm
[ Mood: Sleepy ] Well, I've looked at this bloody thing 3 times now and still can't think of much to say.
Well, here goes. Today I got up at 7.10am, looked through the window at the sunshine and was cheered by the fact that it's spring and it will soon be FESTIVAL TIME, YIPEEE! I also remembered that I've now got two tickets - one for Sunrise and one for Womad. With that fluffy, delicious thought in my head, I had a lovely bath, ate muesli for breccy and went to work at around 9am.
When I got there, I opened post, had a coffee, messed about a bit pretending to type a couple of reports, caught up on office gossip, did a bit more work, and answered the phone. I also started yet another diet after hearing a news item on radio 4 this morning about an 8 year old who weighs 14.5 stone!
Blimey, what a shame - his mum's didn't seem to have much idea of what nutrition was all about or what sort of things she should be feeding him really. Well, she said she did, but then admitted to buying chocolate and crisps! NO! YOU SILLY, SELFISH WOMAN, DON'T PUT TEMPTATION IN HIS WAY, DON'T BUY 'EM AT ALL. I sympathise with this little (?) lad - arse, why can some people eat what the hell they like and folks like me and this poor boy can't, NOT FAIR.
Not much else to report really, except that when I got home yet again the parcel I'm expecting from ebay had not arrived, despite the seller claiming he'd sent the item TWICE - but I still haven't received it. Anyway, I suppose he's not so bad really, as I've just checked and he's refunded me in full via PayPal. I'd rather have had the dongle though I suppose that I should believe him when he says he's sent me two and there's not much else he can do, but then as revolutionary socialist Rosa Luxemburg used to say 'Doubt All'. Ta ra a bit
