Ok FW peops lets get it together!

Where we gonna camp, which car park do we need to go to? Lets not have to carry all that stuff too far!

Where we gonna be living this time next week?

I'm probably going by train, unless any Londeners are up for a lift-share, innit Smile So the car park isn't really an issue for me.

An FW camp in some early morning shade (trees or marquees) + away from flood hollows, generators & karzis would be great. I can happily carry heavy pieces of kit from the car-park if payment is in the form of hugs Pony Group Hug Very Happy

Well, the south car park / south camping look like the closest together, but I like the idea of camping in the Sunrise field (north camping) & it doesn't look tooo far from the north car park..

Don't mind too much one way or the other, as long as I'm in a field with my friends Smile

Somewhere near the pedestrian entrance would be goodish for those of us using public transport. I figure getting off at Ledbury and walking the mile or so to the festival site.

Is it just me, or is google maps knackered for everyone?

Do we have to book the steveziggy101 taxi? What is the call out charge, one or two pints?
Wink

We're packing light this time around owing to the size of the site, though we might need to bring the coffee percolator for espressos of win if someone's bringing a gas burner. We can bring spare cannisters for it and happy to help carry/set up other people's stuff.

We're also hoping to use a smaller tent too, though we seem to have loaned our 3-man tent to someone and then forgotten about it, as it’s done a disappearing act.

bel - im bringing burner and kettle and gas and cups etc, its a regular part of my FW contribution now.

i also bring all the other usual shite too - gazebo, chairs, table, lights, pretties, windbreak, oh and the big 5day cool box fridgy thing full of ice & stuff Smile

between Sy & I at Glade we did an amazin camp. We had 3 flag poles, too many fairy lights and we even had a swimming pool!!

we need decision as to an area to camp in, ive never been before, no idea wheres best..

I've done a bit of research on google earth and had talked to some BCer's and I recon the North Camping would be ace.
The south camp is about 10min walk up a steep hill from the festie but is quiet and close to the carparks.
The North camp is a little further from the car park but is on the edge of the site so no nasty hill to climb at the end of the day/morning/afternoon. It will be noisy but no whose than Glade or Sunrise.
There isn't much in the way of tree cover for the morning except in the Btm right corner and once they put in the fire lane only a handful of tents will have shade.

I guess the Sunrise bit will be on the left hand side so my vote is for the btm right corner then in the hope of some shade.

well, that would put us at the furthest possible point from car park and im not sure i can handle that. to get the stuff to the glade camp we had lots of people it was a big mission and we were only a field away. Im think we're fooked wherever we are for carrying, it looks a big site. this makes joyshine sad. Guess it was too easy at glade, festival camping karma....

I'll go with the majority but im thinking i might have to reconsider what im bringing.

shade wont be an issue next weekend so i dont think we need worry about trees, except for shelter...

I would guess it's the same distance as ID spiral was at glade or a bit less from the North carpark to the north camping field.
I've been told that there are signposts for the various carparks as you approach the site and you aim for the one you want.
Looking at the North field I assume Sunrise will have about half of it leaving the rest for camping so we'll be able to spot Gladys nice & easy.
When are you getting there Joy?

well theres no way we wouldve carried all that to id spiral, we were just inside the first field at glade, im never camping in id again, its just too far. even with helpers its such a mission!

craigs bringing the big gazebo i might just leave mine at home, and i guess ghayla are bringing their fridge so i might not bring mine.

we'll be there about 2ish i expect, just when the rains due to start.

I might pack an extra box of things that can stay in the car if need be.

[mapgeek] Just worked out that it's about .5mile from the bottom corner of the North car park to the entrance of the North camping field. [/mapgeek]
