A big ugly beach on the west coast of taiwan was the result of 4 hours travel or so by bus, managed through unintelligle grunts and sign language with the local chinese.
This was the venue of the rave, and i think it was the first one i was ever to attend. Barely equipped, we were able to rely on the humid taiwan air to keep us toasty and glowing (girls don't sweat remember ), at least until the early hours when we ripped down the wind breakers from the camping area, smuggled them down near the water, and then snuggled in them as the sun rose with the techno pulse still beating in the background.
The best event of the night was the impromptu but talented mad drumming session dancing with all the weird and wonderful friends I had come to know. The wierdest was a loved-up-on-e canadian with whom I had a strange relationship because he had previously told me when I barely knew him that I looked like his grandmother, anyway, he started talking about how captivating he found my smile and how happy he was I had come and then his confession freaked him and he declared he just needed to dance now "yaaaah i just gotta dance now eh" And this was also to be the evening I mastered the basic moves of POI.
I don't remember much else but although the beach was ugly wu
ith some big industrial building looming nearby, the event was beautiful and so follow the rest......

Wow, that guy thought you looked like his gran and he fancied you? That's a bit odd!
Sounds like a wicked night though.

aye it was a good one - I since discovered raves over here are pretty much just as hard to find so that part was pretty authentic
well i can tell you he was very strange! months later he broached the subject again asking me if i was offended because he had mentioned it to a mate who said it was offensive.. kinda one of those scenarios where you're like WHAT THE HELL DO I SAY TO THAT?!!! actualyl I think all our conversations were pretty awkward! haha but its all good fun!
