Dirty 30 two

Tue Nov 21, 2006 3:37 pm

On Saturday we tried to carry on partying for Gwalis. We tried to go out and have a good old fasioned piss up dance up in Croydon. Now, Croydon has lots of bars, most of which play Funky House or RnB or 'Party Classics'. Except for the Black Sheep Bar, who apparently play 'alternative music' (they were playing Hard Fi and the Chilli Peppers when we were in).
Gwalis decided on the Black Sheep for his evening so we all headed off, cued up and paid our moneys.
Its a member's bar so we had to become members before we could get in properly, so we cued up.
Now, to become a member you have to have id, give them your name and address, have a photo taken, and let them take your fingerprint ( Evil or Very Mad ).
Anyway, they wouldn't let Emma (my wife!) in because she had no id. Being 31 its not the first thing you think of when you go out. She didn't have any cashcards because a: She had no pockets and b: Now we're married, i'm paying for everything. hmm.
I just wanted to rant at how pointless and shit the situation was. She's not gonna cause any trouble. She old enough to be there. They wouldn't allow her to be someones 'guest'.
The reason behind the fingerprint bollocks is for safetys sake. The argument goes "we've got all your details. If you cause trouble, we'll have you on CCTV and all your details will be passed to the Police." But if they're that concerned, why dont they do any searches on the way in? I could have carried a knife and stabbed someone with my hood up. I could have been selling Crack in the toilets. Most of the people in there were underage 'punks' anyway. And for an establishment that plays on the 'Anti-Establishment ethos' (fuck you i wont do what you tell me) its pretty conformist (is that the right word?). Not exactly underground demanding that every single one of its members must give a fucking fingerprint?

Pointless post, but wanted to get it off my chest and warn you about the Black Sheep bar in Croydon. Nonsense policy.

dirty 30

Yesterday was Gwalis' 30th. Happy birthday (again) big fella!
We went for an excellent meal at my/our favourite restaurant Topolino's and had a top night.
Its such a friendly place with wicked food and wine and they let us put the Plumps CD on the restaurants system which was a nice supprise (they do the best Irish Coffees too. And if you ask niceley they'll double up on the Irish and the Coffee Shocked ).

Anyway, enough free advertising, Top evening out for a top dude

isn't it funny how a bear likes honey(moon)

Tue Nov 14, 2006 1:26 pm

[  Mood: Sleepy ]
would you believe it? I've got myself all married and stuff. After 8 months of talking about flowers and guests and why we dont want gifts the actual day was very smooth but went very quickly. I didn't get the chance to speak to half of the people i wanted to properly, but everyone seemed to have fun and we all danced like fools, to foolish music, with foolish amounts of drink inside us. As you should.

The honeymoon was spent in Japan travelling around and seeing Temples and Shrines and Monkeys. Its an excellent country with little or no crime, no litter, and lots of smiles.

I highlly recomend both marriage and Japan.

But we got back on Sunday and i'm really tired/jet lagged. Everything moves like your underwater and i cant see properly. I feel sick and cant concentate on anything. Its wicked.

healing power of Sigur Ros

Wed Oct 18, 2006 3:39 pm

last night was a bit 'laddish'.
A mate had a spare ticket for the football so i headed off to the pub early doors and got stuck in. Nothing unusual there really, but on the way to the footy we stopped off and picked up some naughty and cracked on.
After the match(absolutely shockingly shit, by the way) we went back to the pub, more beer, more snffing in the loo's, you get the idea.
Normaly, if i go out on a week night, i'll be home by 11/11.30 latest and wouldn't normally dable leaving me fresh for work the next day. Well, not fresh, but not fucked.
Last night though, it was back to my mates flat, more beer, more naughty and cards and a 'drunken' cab ride home at well past my bed time.

I thought i'd be in touble. I thought i'd be late. I thought i'd spend the day crying, cursing, and nursing my pounding headache.

Got up ok. Got the bus ok. Felt fine all day. And you know why?
Sigur Ros mofo!
Had the soothing tunes on my headphones, and they sorted me right out. I've been in a top mood all day!

So the moral is, do whatever you want, as long as you listen to Sigur Ros you'll be fine

*lamstonite accepts no responsibilty if people are not 'fine', even after repeated Sigur Ros listenings*

Arse

Fri Sep 29, 2006 2:58 pm

I also wanted give a shout out (ha!) to Arsen Wenger (no idea how to spell his name). 10 years he's been Arsenal manager and hes turned them around from being a succesfull boring team, to a succesfull exciting team. Not only that, for a Premiership manager to be at a club for that length of time is quite asstonishing (as is my spelling). There's probably only a couple of managers who've stayed put for so long.
I dont support Arsenal but you've got to appreciate what the guys done there. Got them a new stadium and everything.
