It’s with great pleasure we can announce that tickets for 2008’s Secret Garden Party festival will go on sale as of 1st February 2008.
They will be priced at £125 for a ticket. This price is all inclusive - no extras for booking charges, car parking or campervan pitches! Tickets will be available through the Secret Garden Party website at www.secretgardenparty.com along with youth tickets for the 14-17 year olds (accompanied by an adult), priced at £100. again… all inclusive. And as always, under 14’s are completely free when accompanied by an adult.
The Secret Garden Party is conceived as a four day party like no other, a place where imagination knows no schedules or boundaries. It is founded on creative participation of all kinds, whether that’s performing Shakespeare round the fire circles, staging a custard pie battle on the lake or building the sculpture of your dreams. It is an Arts event, with ticket monies spread evenly between musicians, actors, installation artists, healers and public performers. Most importantly it is a party where everyone has the chance to get under the spotlight, from the headline Main Stage act to the hula hoping eccentric in the setting sun. The Head Gardeners would not have it any other way.
This July The Secret Garden Party will be exploring the Revolutions of Past, Present and Future, from the physical through to the conceptual. We will be asking all Gardeners to stage their own revolutions, devolutions and evolutions bringing the Garden to life with parades, music, sculpture and theatre.
Happening once again in its stunning location in the East Anglian countryside, near Huntingdon, the event will have an array of the best up and coming artists performing alongside some bona fide legends; and many celebrated on-site shenanigans for which The Secret Garden Party has become so affectionately synonymous. The festival has become notorious for championing the hit-makers of tomorrow with past performers including KT Tunstall (2004), Noisettes (2005), Hard Fi (2005), The Rumble Strips (2006), Lily Allen (2006), Newton Faulkner (2007), Reverend And The Makers (2007) and Metronomy (2007)… with this years line up looking to top them all.
The Revolution is coming…

yeah, I was thinking that... i know we were gutted about not being able to make it last year. I think if we presurise daddy into taking his kiddy for a long weekend we can come. I know I just want to get outside and enjoy a festi again. Feels like a long time since I've done one.

Quote: › The Bubble Wrap Ballroom will be making its first appearance at the Secret Garden Party between the 24th and the 27th of July 2008!
"The Bubble Wrap Ballroom" is to become the home of everyone’s favorite multi-use packaging fun, providing a chill-out space with bubble wrap sofas and other safety providing polyethylene trimmings! We will play host to astonishing games, events and revelry for people from the biggest of the big to the weeniest of the weenie!
These games, to name but a few include:
• bubble wrap boxing (enormous popping bubble wrap gloves),
• bubble wrap sumo (oh yes, popping fat suits)
• bubble wrap duel (remember Gladiators with the legend John Fashanu? No Fash but pugil sticks made of the popping stuff!)
- Bubble Wrap Twister (can you resist falling onto a massive sheet of bubble wrap?)
As well as our world famous (or at least in the UK and Canada) flagship event, bubble wrap races (pub favorite: one strip of bubbles each, head to head in a race to see who can be the first to pop a “drag strip” of bubbles.)
EVERYONE LOVES BUBBLE WRAP- FACT!
this is a place for people to discuss their affection for the popping stuff, and get exited about the prospect of spending a sunny weekend in the Cambridge countryside playing with BUBBLE WRAP!!! |

At this years Secret Garden Party prepare you body for war on the dance floor. In our purpose built dance ring you'll have the opportunity to settle the score, wipe all debts and otherwise smash your opponent into nothingness using your dance arsenal.
Throughout the festival at the Dance Off! action camp we'll be pitting members of the public, artists and organisers against each other with music supplied by our in-house dance commander. Our team of world class trainers will offer mentoring, advice and dirty tricks to ensure their dancers humiliate their opposition, whilst our cut throat judging panel will offer nothing less than a fair and balanced score to our intrepid dancers with no threat of corruption whatsoever.
See you on the floor.
How its gonna go down:
Each dancer or tag team will get three, thirty second sessions to prove their worth, alternating with their opposition.
A coin will be flipped before each competition. Whoever wins the toss decides the genre to which the Dance-Off will take. Genres available include: bassy, funky, cheesy or random. The loser of the toss chooses who will dance first.
After each round, the judging panel will score the individuals/teams skills of ten. At the end of the three rounds, marks will be tallied for each individuals/teams out of a total of thirty and the highest score wins.
Extra points will be gained for: costume, love from the crowd, danger of moves, level of inebriation, aesthetically pleasing nudity, complementing the referee, judges or DJ, making the sun come out during your go, dancing so well that taxes are lowered, being Dutch.
Points will be deducted for: poor attitude, fascism, hate from the crowd, ugly nudity, the robot, insulting the referee, judges or DJ, excretion on stage, declaring war on a middle eastern country using the facade of a removal of an unwanted government when its really just for oil, references to Disney and finally, being Abu Hamza. |
