Though as a parent on a low income I do completely understand Tony's frustration and the desire to vent .... and this is after all the Sunrise forum linked on the Sunrise site and if you're not getting any response from 'official' sources you may as well bash out your frustrations on a keyboard here I s'pose.
I am torn on the whole issue as I think Sunrise (and the ethos at the heart of it) was the best festival in the UK for years - but the organisation hasn't been. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't know where to start organising a festival myself - but there have been issues with all three - personally I also think the decision to cancel should have been taken earlier (however hard that decision was) ..... and my personal opinion is that it wasn't done so due to lack of insurance - but it wasn't just adults who were at risk on that site, but kids - it is after all a family festival. It's not like me to come over all Health & Safety but I do think it was a mistake.
I really hope everyone who has shown their support for Sunrise and gone to the Big Chill with or without a ticket after the lastest fiasco has managed to get in and is having a wonderful time. If there was an influx of posters on here venting in the next couple of days after being turned away, I would lose any of the diminishing faith I had left in Sunrise and personally wouldn't be going to anymore festivals they put on anyway (*sits back and prepares to be shot down in flames by one or two in particular*)

...... though would you have been a bit more stressed if your kids were there or going/stuck or disappointed/ etc ? and as a consequence (and no refund in this case) you couldn't afford do anything else in the holidays - that was where I was empathising with Tony.

I am in the same boat as Fruitygoose, had the waiting for cheque book email and nothing since. I actually returned my tickets and requested a refund before the refund deadline as my 'carer' was unable to attend, so have now been nagging, waiting and stressing over this for the worst part of three months.
Hold the flamethrowers because I know there are far worse things going on in the world, but we all need a holiday and a significant portion of my holiday budget is sitting in their bank account. Anyone still waiting for a refund is entitled to be 'annoyed' imo, cancellation of the event was always a possibility and should have been catered for.
I bought my tickets direct and paid by cheque, so have no recourse through the bank. I have been trying to find the address of the registered office, but have been unable to, it's probably just me being dense, but if someone could post (or PM) it to me it would be very much appreciated.
Keep this thread going if you are owed money, and don't be put off seeking your refund by the guilt trip, worthy cause thing.
Peace.

Agree. Stompy has a wise view of life. Did you get your refund or whatever?
As for the gentleman threatening to post the emails I wrote (between 8pm and 4am I believe - Good service even if I say it myself)
You gave us no time or leeway to sort out a problem we were more than happy to sort. Please post them (with your own & unedited)
60% take-up on Big Chill may have given us some nigh-on impossible challenges over last couple of weeks but it 100% secures the future of Sunrise (and means the Agents can release more of the customers money to them)
Hate to say this but Agents cost more 'cos this is what we do for a living. We have six lines and multiple staff and even we couldn't cope with the thousands of calls we got last week.
The office has one phone line and Vicki. Send one email. Sit back and be patient. It will take a while.
Although I absolutely understand how anxious everyone feels not knowing.... If we'd only had one email or one call from each customer, we'd have had them all shipped 3 days earlier.
Sunrise are not trying to evade paying anyone! Getting cross gives you frown lines and just slows them down.
If you really want someone to shout at, use an agent next time. You can't complain about a service you didn't pay for but you can be really abusive to us.

Absolutely agree BTS I had two tickets through you guys and you were absolutely fantastic, went to your shop got instant refund for a couple of the peeps we were with.
Stompy - I do have very good manners, I do make the mistake of wishing to be treated in a way that I treat others, ie if someone says that something will be ready 'in a couple of day' I do not expect that to mean that I am being fobbed off with a cheap promise that they then ignore, leaving me with very little confidence. If they had stated that they do promise to honor their agreement, but that it would be unlikely that they could guarantee a refund getting in the post before middle of August, then I would have felt that this was realistic and honest.
I have tried the Sunrise telephone number which is now just on answer machine Tel. 0845 - 009 6347 with an out of date message regarding tickets for the Big Chill. I have emailed, and I too have misplaced the physical address of the office, it was in Glastonbury somewhere.
It would be great if they do send me the refund.

Yay, thank you, thank you, lovely understanding lady at the Sunrise Office, I GOT MY REFUND! No silly old chequebook needed in the end.
I can go to a festival now, yay! Going to Shambala, can't wait, I am doing some stewarding but now I will have some spending money, for the children.
Thank you, thank you!
I will see you at Sunrise 2009 it will be my forth - it will be even more amazing as we are all working through the struggle of 2008.
I will have money in January, so count on me for a few tickets, and will bring some friends.
Love you!!
