I'll just go for the one with the least psytrance. Big Chill and Noel Fielding beckon ...but now Waveform is only a couple of hours drive....makes a change to have so much fun almost on my doorstep

I know, how tempting was that I checked out Waveforms website but their festie is not until Sep n I really don't think I can wait that long lol. Plus, I feel like I'll be doing me bit for Sunrise if I go to Sunrise @ The Big Chill, and not only that, it'll be awesome

has anyone been to the big chill with kids?
mine are quite young & i take them to Sunrise because it's nice & small,
The big chill sounds,. well,. BIG,.
how well do they look after the kids, in that, are there many Chavs there?
there's always some i know,. but i trust hippies around the young'uns,
not Chavvie people that like to get f*cked upon really sh*tty drugs & throw beer bottles at people & that,.
also, wow! Lenoard Cohen, how big are the stages, if i went would i actually be able to 'see' my hero?.. or would i be miles away behind
a sea of heads,.

Gav's on board for a Chilly Sunrise.
The line up in the poetry tent looks pretty wicked, a few really ace Brizzle poets on.
This option will no doubt be a bit more varied than Waveform, which may or may not suit.

Big Chill is good for kids and yes there are a few chavs, but there are also a few hoorays who are just as bad. There were some tent thefts, but then there are at other festivals too. Not the same atmosphere as Sunrise as quite a few of the punters seem to be more concerned about the label they are wearing, but if the Sunrise posse are there it will be different. The upside for me is the music is more varied and no psytrance (phew). The site is in fields around a stately home and lake and extremely beautiful as the lake is lit up at night. Lots of good food, always a brilliant line up, easy access by train/shuttle bus and the site is ok for pushchairs, wheelchairs or those who are just a bit unsteady on their feet. Go on, you know you want too

Hey, I'm concerned with my labels, Tesco jeans, festival T-shirt army surplus mack and boots. Seriously it's a great look, right ladies?

I went to the first Big Chill at Eastnor with a baby. The crowd seemed to be mainly fashionable metropolitan types. Very different to the Sunrise crowd. In fact I fear there may be some friction between the two. Anyway I wouldn't let the kids as loose there as I do at Sunrise. Overall the atmosphere was pleasant enough during the day (we didn't stay out late), although that year they were way under capacity that year, I can imagine it being a bit hectic with a full capacity crowd, the site isn't that big.
It was quite a trek from parking to camping as I recall, and there's a steep climb from the arena to family camping, worth bearing in mind if you have buggy-age children.
There are some good names on the lineup but I just don't think the overall "feel" of the festival will be as good, so it's a Waveform or Sunrise 09 swap for me...
