If you're in a band, or an aspiring (or professional!) DJ and want the opportunity to play on the Sunrise SolarAid Main Stage with the likes of - The Orb, Dub Pistols, System 7, Babyhead & 3 Daft Monkeys - in front of thousands of people - then read on!
Sunrise Festival have recently launched their Rising Stars Competition.
The Sunrise Festival's Rising Stars Competition is being run online via the Sunrise Website and will be voted on by the public, along with a panel of 3 judges.
Once you've submitted your entry, you'll receive a confirmation email containing a unique link to forward to your friends / supporters, enabling them to vote for YOU.
People who vote in the Rising Stars competition will also get the chance to enter a draw for a pair of Sunrise Festival tickets.
(If you already have tickets, Sunrise will refund you if you win!)
Competition entries close on Monday, 12th of May @ 12pm.
The 12 'Rising Star' finalists will be announced here after the public vote closes on Thursday, 15th May.
The competition winner will be selected by a panel of 3 judges and will be announced on Saturday, 17th May.
The winning Band will play on the Sunrise SolarAid Main Stage on Saturday night at the Sunrise Celebration 2008 and receive a Live DVD of the performance courtesy of Inside-Us-All!
The winning DJ gets a slot on the Dance Stage (be sure to select 'DJ' from the genres box!)
Good Luck everyone!

Er - who runs the website for this? The voting button doesn't work for me, the one you click after entering your email adress. It's greyed out, on both Internet Explorer and Firefox.

Can't find a problem with it myself. Have written to the techies to take a look. There was a server fault earlier that may have affected it. Try again.

Hmmm, well if I get upload rights I could get a mix uploaded on here and then link to that I suppose.
Not holding out much hope for votes though as I've had very little to no exposure.

popularity contests are a crap way of deciding a competition like this......each style of entry should be judged by a seperate panel, who have a experience in that particular field IMO

Jim it is judged by a panel of judges once its whittled down to fewer entries by people voting... - But i agree, it is silly!
